Jack Herring, DVM
Dr. Herring graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. He worked at an emergency clinic in Springfield, MO his first year out and then moved to Clarksville, TN where he worked in a multi-doctor practice. In 1993 he relocated to Fayetteville, AR to purchase what is now known as Wedington Animal Hospital. From 1999 to 2002, Dr. Herring provided medical care for L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement and Detection), a program that trained police dogs to sniff out drugs and explosives. He also instructed classes for the dog's handlers about health related topics. In 2000 he received certification as an official law enforcement instructor. He is currently the veterinarian for the City of Fayetteville Police Canine Department and the Washington County Canine Police.
Dr. Herring has helped the community in many ways. He works closely with several different rescue groups as well as the Humane Society of the Ozarks. He has been on numerous cruises with Disabled Individuals as the veterinarian for their service dogs. He is currently on KNWA's Critter Corner each Monday night discussing important health topics. Dr. Herring has been voted زFavorite Veterinarianس by the Reader's Choice Awards for the past 7 years.
Dr. Herring is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association.

Shannon Wright, DVM
Dr. Wright graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine with a DVM in 1991. In 1993 she joined the North College Animal Hospital, aka Wedington Animal Hospital, full time. In 1999 Dr. Wright worked closely with the Fayetteville Animal Shelter. She was instrumental in the ordering of supplies and medication as well as developing protocals for the clinic when their surgery clinic was built. She was the first official shelter veterinarian hired. During the course of this year, she divided her time between North College Animal Hospital and the Fayetteville Animal Shelter. After the clinic was established, she returned to North College Animal Hospital full time.
Dr. Wright's special interests include orthopedics. She keeps up to date on orthopedic procedures by attending continuing education in this field every year. She resides in Fayetteville with her husband Richard. They have three children, Christine, Robbie and Billy. Their household is rounded out by three dogs, three cats and a pigeon.

Viki Fredotovich Cyphers, DVM
Dr. Cyphers, a native of New Orleans, received her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from LSU. She practiced in Hot Springs for twenty years and then moved to Fayetteville in 2005 with her partner and her two children. A member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Veterinary Surgical Laser Society and the American Veterinary Dental, her special interests are surgery and advanced veterinary dentistry, including endodontics, restorative procedures, crowns and orthodontics. Her hobbies include antiquing, reading, ballet, motorcycle riding and gardening. Dr. Cyphers serves on the landscaping and grounds committee for her neighborhood. She has four spoiled dogs: two mixed breeds and two Brittany spaniels.

GARY E. FARWELL, DVM
Dr. Farwell, does contract medicine and surgery for our animal hospital and others. He graduated from the University of California, Davis in 1977. He is licensed to practice Veterinary medicine in Arkansas, California, Idaho, Utah, and Virginia. His past military career included the US Navy Submarine Service from 1966 to 1975 and the US Air Force Veterinary Corps from 1977 to 1981 and the US Air Force Biomedical Science Corps from 1983 to 1996. Dr. Farwellصs professional experience extends from 1977 to present and includes: Clinical Director of Military Working Dog Training Center at Okinawa and Texas, Chief of Environmental & Public Health in Turkey, Director of Public Health in Germany and Virginia, Chief of Operations for Preventive Medical Services GTMO, Cuba caring for 30,000 Cuban and Haitian refugees. He was a clinician/director for a large emergency clinic in Virginia as well as small animal practice owner and manager in Utah and Virginia. He and his brother own and manage a 4,000 acre wildlife ranch in southern Idaho. He has received honors including, membership of Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society, Adjunct Associate Professor of Veterinary Science at Brigham Young University and has published in Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Associalion, just to name a few. Dr. Farwellصs personal interests include his family, traveling, history, photography and sports.

Cindy S., Office Manager
Cindy S. has been a member of the team at Wedington Animal Hospital since January 2007. Before coming to Wedington Animal Hospital she spent 16 years working for the Head Start Program in Washington County. Cindy attended the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, AR where she met her husband James, whom she has been married to since 1990. They have 3 children, Brandon, Jordan and Jasmine, one dog, Halee a 6 Ib Yorkie and one granddog, Kagan a 50 lb Siberian Husky. In her spare time Cindy enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

Barbara, Caretaker Supervisor
Barbara has been a member of the Wedington Animal Hospital team since the fall of 2003. She worked in landscaping for 10 years prior to this. She also served in the US Army for 2 years after high school. Barbara family has always included animals. Several dogs and cats bless her home at the present time. She has a very special attraction for old and sickly animals!

Amanda, Veterinary Assistant Supervisor
Amanda has been a member of the staff of Wedington Animal Hospital since August 2004. After graduation from Camden Fairview High School, she attended the University of Arkansas where she was a member of the marching band for four years. She has two dogs, Poncho, a Boarder Collie, and Moxie, a Heeler mix.

Darla, Inventory Coordinator
Darla has been with Wedington Animal Hospital since August 2007. She has served as a receptionist and is currently the Inventory Coordinator for our clinic. Prior to coming to Wedington, Darla owned and operated Busy Bee Preschool in Madison County for 10 years. She has two pets, Taz, a Humane Society Rescue, and Tinkerbell, a Pomeranian. Darla enjoys reading, listening to music and singing. She is married and has four children and three grandchildren.

Christine, Veterinarian Assistant
Christine is a sophomore at the University of Arkansas. Her major is Pre-Nursing. She grew up in Fayetteville, AR with her parents and two younger brothers. She has been working for Wedington Animal Hospital since 2004. When she is not studying or working, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and husband, Zachary. She enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and camping. Christine also enjoys going on short-term mission trips and hope to be a full-time missionary someday.

Callie, Veterinarian Assistant
Callie has been working at Wedington Animal Hospital since July 2006. She started out as caretaker and then decided that she wanted to learn more about the medical aspect of the practice. She has been a Veterinarian Assistant for almost two years. She has a passion for stray and abandoned animals and hopes to turn that into a career one day. She has four dogs and two cats, all of which are strays that were rescued with the except of her miniature poodle Leroy who was a Christmas present. She currently attends NWACC and plans on earning an Animal Science Degree from the University of Arkansas.

Angie S., Veterinarian Assistant
Angie Shannon has been a Veterinary Assistant here at Wedington Animal Hospital since June of 2006. She takes great pride in her work and finds it a very rewarding occupation. She has been married 17 years and is also the proud mom of two children, Chris and Kelsi and three "furry" kids Hannah, Bitsi and Liddle.

Morgan, Veterinarian Assistant
Morgan has been working at Wedington Animal Hospital since January 2009. He greatly enjoys working around the warm atmosphere and all the different animals. He grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where his parents jointly owned a veterinary clinic. Morgan has pretty much been around the veterinary practice all his life and says he wouldn't want it any other way. He attended St. John's Catholic School through the eighth grade and then high school at both Hot Springs High School and Lake Hamilton High School. During his high school years he worked at Cyphers Gentle Pet Care as a caretaker through the summers and did weekend dog maintenance during the school year. He moved to Fayetteville during his senior year and graduated from Fayetteville High School. At the current time he is taking a year off of school before college and learning all he can at Wedington Animal Hospital.

Angie B, Veterinarian Assistant Aide
Angie has been a part of the Wedington Animal Hospital team since January 1999. She has worked as a Caretaker Aide and is currently working as a Veterinarian Assistant Aide. Other than Dr. Herring and Dr. Wright, Angie has been with the clinic the longest amount of time. Angie assists in surgery and anywhere she is needed.

Jadie, Receptionist
Jadie graduated from West Fork High School in 2008. She is currently attending the Nursing Program at NWACC. She has two cats, one dog and one guinea pig. She loves working with all the animals here at Wedington Animal Hospital.

Chantal, Receptionist
Chantal graduated from Rogers High School in 2001. Since graduation she has lived in Dallas, Texas and Orlando, Florida. She currently resides in the big city of Lowell and enjoys being part of the Wedington Team. She volunteers for the Humane Society of the Ozarks weekly in Mountainburg, Arkansas. Her hobbies include reading and the outdoors.

Larry, Veterinary Assistant
Larry began working at Wedington Animal Hospital in June 2007. As a caretakers many of his responsibilities include cleaning kennels, bathing dogs and the laundering massive amount of bedding that are used in the boarding facilities. Larry says he loves working with animals and the most rewarding part of his job is coming to work and always leaving happy because he knows the animals he cares for are happy. Larry lives with his girlfriend Shawna and their three animals, Jake, Roxy, and Sampson. Larry's family includes his younger brother Chris and his father Larry.
